2026 Annual Conference of Real Estate Brokerage Held in Beijing
On July 23, the 2026 annual conference of real estate brokerage, organized by China Institute of Real Estate Appraisers and Agents (hereinafter referred to as “CIREA”), was held in Beijing; and a public pledge for national real estate brokerage associations and housing rental enterprises on “operating in accordance with the law and regulations, providing honest and high-quality service” was held at the same time.
Mr. Jiang Wanrong, President of CIREA, delivered a speech at the conference. Principal officials from Real Estate Market Supervision Department of Ministry of Housing and Urban-Rural Development (hereinafter referred to as “MoHURD”) and China Construction News attended the conference. Mr. Lu Huide, President of Macao Commercial Association for Building Development (ACFPM), Ms. Liang Deli, Director of Regulatory Affairs and General Counsel of Hong Kong Estate Agents Authority (EAA), CIREA Executive Vice-President Chai Qiang, Resident Vice-President Wang Ruichun, Vice-President and Secretary-General Wang Huan, and Vice-President Wang Xia also attended the conference.
MoHURD is currently stepping up a special campaign to regulate the order of real estate transaction and brokerage market. CIREA, in collaboration with 48 local real estate brokerage associations nationwide, has organized 150 representative real estate brokerage companies, housing rental enterprises and relevant online platforms to jointly issue ten public pledges to the society. These pledges cover ensuring the authenticity and validity of property listings, standardizing the acceptance of business entrustment, disclosing property conditions truthfully, safeguarding transparent and open transactions, adhering to compliance transactions, standardizing service fee practices, upholding the principles of voluntariness and equality, maintaining market price order, guiding market expectations correctly, adhering to the principles of fair competition. These pledges aim to further strengthen the industry’s self-discipline, standardize service practices and enhance service quality, thereby putting the people-centered development philosophy into practice through practical actions and better safeguarding the needs for the people living in peace.
President Jiang Wanrong pointed out in his speech, China’s housing industry has now moved from a stage of overall shortage to a new stage characterized by a broadly balanced supply and structural shortages; people’s housing needs have shifted from “have or not” to “good or not”; and the property market is accelerating its transition to a market dominated by existing properties. These changes bring up new challenges to the development philosophies, business models and service approaches of the real estate brokerage and rental industry. The entire industry must genuinely uphold the principle of “serving the people”, ensuring that this public pledge is effectively implemented and achieves practical results. Firstly, the industry must stick to the original aspiration of serving the people, demonstrating its value through integrity and professionalism. Secondly, the industry must strictly adhere to the bottom line of compliance, forging corporate character through standardized operations. Thirdly, the industry must uphold self-discipline and responsibility, cultivating a fertile ground for development through collaborative governance.
While Vice-President Chai Qiang presiding over the public pledge, he hoped all participating associations and enterprises would keep their words with real actions, consciously accept supervision from all aspects, and safeguard the industry’s reputation, uphold market order, and enhance people’s satisfaction and sense of fulfillment regarding buying and renting houses through real actions. At the pledge event, Wang Huan, Vice-President and Secretary-General of CIREA, read out the public pledge. The participating organizations all stated that they would implement the ten pledges into every aspect of their business processes and service practices, continuously improve service quality, effectively protect the legitimate rights and interests of consumers, and better meet people’s needs for secure and liveable housing.
During the keynote speech session, experts and scholars from domestic and foreign regions, as well as enterprise leaders, engaged in in-depth discussions on topics including industry management experiences, reshaping industry value in the AI era, development pathways for the industry in mature markets, exploratory practices in joint sales of properties, the construction of a sustainable industry ecosystem, and building of the talent team. They shared practical achievements and jointly discussed pathways for the industry’s high-quality and sustainable development.
Approximately 300 attendees presented at the conference, including the leaders of 48 provincial and municipal real estate brokerage and rental associations that jointly launched the public pledge; the leaders of 150 representative enterprises and online platforms that made the pledge; relevant experts and scholars; and representatives from Hong Kong and Macao real estate brokerage industry.
